Where do visiting WNBA teams stay?

In big full-service hotels a short ride from the arena, in the same downtown blocks fans should book. We don’t name team hotels, for player privacy, and they rotate anyway. Every team has flown charters since May 2024, so the road rhythm is simple: land the day before, play one game, leave.

The road trip itself is short. Delta has flown full-season charters for every team since May 2024, and the labor deal reached this spring wrote charter travel into the rules; the shortest hops, like Chicago to Indianapolis, have typically gone by bus. A stop is usually one game in town. Fly in the day before, shoot around, play, fly out. Nobody camps in a city for a week, which is why a traveling team books the same thing a traveling fan wants: a full-service property close to the building.

Arena geography does most of the work in this league. Most of the fifteen arenas sit in or beside their city’s core, so the where-to-stay answer is the same for teams and fans: Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Target Center in Minneapolis, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Crypto.com Arena in L.A. The exceptions are the ones to plan around. Atlanta plays at Gateway Center Arena in College Park by the airport, Dallas plays on the UT Arlington campus with no rail, Connecticut’s arena is inside the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, and Washington’s CareFirst Arena is in Congress Heights, where the move is a Navy Yard hotel and the Green Line. In those markets “near the arena” and “downtown” are two different answers, and the venue guides above split them out.

Seattle is a clean example. Climate Pledge Arena sits at Seattle Center in Lower Queen Anne, about a mile north of the downtown retail core. Hotels within a five-minute walk cluster in Lower Queen Anne and Belltown. The bigger full-service inventory is downtown around Westlake, and the monorail covers Westlake to Seattle Center in two minutes and stays open an hour after every Climate Pledge Arena event. Nothing above names a team hotel and nothing on this site ever will. Teams keep travel details quiet for player security, and the properties rotate season to season anyway. The useful part is the pattern: on a sellout night the walkable cluster fills first, minimum-stay rules show up, and discounted rates close out. One 2026 wrinkle to plan around. The league goes dark August 31 through September 16 for the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin (September 4 to 13), which makes August 20 to 30 the last run of home dates most cities see for two and a half weeks. Play resumes with about a week left in the regular season, which ends September 24. Playoffs open September 27, and once matchups firm up, revenue managers, the people who set hotel rates, price arena-district rooms on those nights like events.
