Truist Park’s October is over
No more baseball here in 2026. The Dodgers won Game 4 of the National League Division Series 4-1 on Wednesday night, October 7, took the series 3-1, and Atlanta’s season ended on its own field. The park’s next game is the 2027 regular season.
That is the honest answer, so it goes first. If you landed here looking for a room for a game at Truist Park, there isn’t one to book. The year-round Truist Park guide is the page for a 2027 trip, and the sections lower down on bags, lockers, rideshare and parking hold for any visit.
The whole round:
- Game 1: Saturday, October 3, 4:00 p.m. ET, Dodger Stadium, FOX and FOX One. Dodgers won 5-3.
- Game 2: Sunday, October 4, 8:00 p.m. ET, Dodger Stadium, FS1 and FOX One. Braves won 3-2.
- Game 3: Tuesday, October 6, 6:00 p.m. ET, Truist Park, FS1 and FOX One. Dodgers won 3-1.
- Game 4: Wednesday, October 7, 6:00 p.m. ET, Truist Park, FS1 and FOX One. Dodgers won 4-1 and took the series 3-1.
- Game 5: Friday, October 9, Dodger Stadium. Not played.
Checkout Thursday morning, and the Battery goes quiet.
How the series went
Dodgers 5, Braves 3 on Saturday afternoon at Dodger Stadium, played in 100-degree heat per the AP’s account. Tarik Skubal gave up one run over six innings in his first Dodgers playoff start, with a stretch of 15 straight Braves retired, per Yahoo Sports. Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Max Muncy all homered. Sean Murphy got Atlanta on the board with a solo shot leading off the sixth, and Ozzie Albies took Tanner Scott 432 feet for two runs in the ninth after Ronald Acuña Jr. led off with a single. Then Sunday night went to Atlanta, 3-2, and the series flew east even.
Tuesday night here went 3-1 to Los Angeles. Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw seven innings of one-run ball with ten strikeouts, per Yahoo Sports. The scoring was one inning of Chris Sale: Andy Pages singled leading off the fourth, Kiké Hernández hit a two-run homer, and Freddie Freeman followed with a solo shot. Atlanta loaded the bases with one out in the fifth and got a single run out of it on a groundout. Edwin Díaz closed the ninth.
Then Wednesday: Dodgers 4, Braves 1. Atlanta scored first and Los Angeles shut the door from there, per Fox Sports, with Andy Pages’ go-ahead single the hit that decided it, per Dodgers Digest. Game 4 was never conditional, whatever the schedule’s asterisk suggested; a best-of-five only loses its fourth game on a 3-0 lead. It turned out to be the last baseball in the building until spring.
Where the bracket went
Los Angeles went to the National League Championship Series against the Brewers, who had closed out San Diego 3-1 at Petco Park later the same night, and it was over in four. Milwaukee, the 1 seed, swept the series 4-0: 2-1 and 7-4 at American Family Field on October 11 and 12, then 6-2 and 6-4 at Dodger Stadium on October 14 and 15. The Dodger Stadium guide has the Los Angeles call, the American Family Field guide has Milwaukee, and the World Series page now carries Rays at Brewers, which opened in Milwaukee on October 23.
Rooms, and the rental question
Two hotels sit inside the Battery Atlanta: the Omni and the Aloft. That is the entire walk-out-the-door supply for a sellout crowd, so on any playoff date those two are the first to close out, meaning the property stops selling discounted rates and sometimes stops selling the night at all. Cumberland and the Galleria are the next ring, a flat 15 to 20 minute walk, and that is where visiting fans end up most often. Midtown and Buckhead are a car ride, with better food.
A rental is worth a look here for a specific kind of trip. Cobb County and Vinings have real single-family inventory within a short drive of the park, and for a crew of four or more over two or three nights, a house with a kitchen and a driveway beats two hotel rooms on cost and on sanity. The trade is the cancellation terms, and they are set per listing. Vrbo gives hosts seven standard tiers. Relaxed, the middle one, refunds in full only 14 or more days out, half between 7 and 13 days, and nothing inside a week; Day-before, at the loose end, refunds in full to 24 hours before check-in, same as Airbnb’s Flexible tier. A date that depends on a result needs one of those two, and nothing stricter will do. For a 2027 series you hold tickets to, it is often the right one.
Tickets, for the record
One dated observation, and it was a snapshot, not a trend. On TickPick, which says it charges no service fees, Game 3 on October 6 listed from $109 and a then-conditional Game 4 on October 7 listed from $85 when we checked on Friday, October 2. Both were printed at a 6:00 p.m. start. Those numbers moved hourly and the all-in total at checkout is the only one worth comparing across sites.
The conditional game was the cheaper one that Friday, which made sense: you were buying a ticket to something that might not happen. It happened. Both dates were played, so the automatic-refund rule Fox 5 Atlanta reported for Braves postseason tickets, and the matching Ticketmaster rule for playoff games skipped when a series ends early, never came into play in Atlanta. The Braves’ own ticket pages blocked our fetch on Friday, October 2, so we quote nothing from them.
Game day at the park
Gates. The Braves ran 5:30 p.m. gates for the 8:15 p.m. Wild Card Game 3, which is two hours and 45 minutes out, and two-hour gates for the two afternoon games. Plan on roughly two hours for a night game and confirm on your ticket in the MLB Ballpark app.
Bags. Not allowed at Truist Park in 2026. The exceptions are single-compartment clutches and clear bags up to 5 by 9 inches, medical bags, bags required for guests with ADA needs, breast pumps, and diaper bags for guests with infants or toddlers. A parent’s diaper bag gets in. A backpack does not. Clear is not required, so an opaque clutch under 5 by 9 is fine.
Lockers. Mobile locker storage between the Orange and Truist Tower parking decks, first come first served, from $12 a bag for baseball, open from two hours before first pitch until an hour after the last out. Collect the bag before you settle in for a postgame drink.
Rideshare. One zone for the whole park and the whole district, on Windy Ridge Parkway near the Orange Deck. It takes the crowd all at once. Walk into the Battery, eat something, then request.
Parking. The Red Deck in the Battery is closest. No lot takes cash. Fox 5 Atlanta’s NLDS guide puts Battery Atlanta deck rates at free for the first two hours, rising to $60 for a game-day stay past four hours. A ballgame is a past-four-hours stay. Lots B9, B11, E44, S60 and S61 are advance purchase only; the Silver Deck and lots N25, N29, E31, E41 and E43 take a card on site if spaces are left; the Orange and Delta decks are premium-member only. That breakdown is from Atlanta News First’s parking guide of March 26, 2026.
The Battery. For the two Los Angeles games the club scheduled watch parties on the Plaza Green, Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, with activities starting 90 minutes before first pitch, per Fox 5 Atlanta. For the Wild Card games the Braves ran a full Block Party in the district from 11 a.m. with a DJ, BMX stunt shows and tailgating games, per CBS Atlanta’s September 29 report. Nothing comparable was announced for the two Division Series home dates.
How Atlanta got here
Braves 6, Phillies 2 on Thursday, October 1. Atlanta took the best-of-three 2-1 and drew the Dodgers.
Michael Harris II ended the suspense early with a three-run homer in the first off Aaron Nola, who got five outs and left. Ozzie Albies hit a two-run shot in the fourth off Zack Wheeler. Matt Olson added a solo homer in the seventh off Jonathan Bowlan. Ray Kerr opened for Atlanta and threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, with Grant Holmes behind him, and Chris Sale came out of the bullpen on one day of rest for the last four outs, per ESPN’s recap. Philadelphia scored in the sixth and the eighth. The Inquirer measured the Harris homer at 387 feet and described Phillies players watching from the dugout rail “like statues.”
The attendance number is the Atlanta story
Three games, one ballpark, three days, and the crowd moved like this:
| Game | Date and first pitch | Announced attendance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tuesday, September 29, 2:00 p.m. | 30,127 |
| 2 | Wednesday, September 30, 2:00 p.m. | 37,150 |
| 3 | Thursday, October 1, 8:15 p.m. | 41,731 (sellout) |
That is 11,604 more people for Game 3 than Game 1. Nothing about the matchup changed in between. The start time did. The first two games were weekday 2 p.m. starts, forced by MLB’s slotting rule, and the national write-ups on Wednesday were about thin afternoon crowds in Atlanta and Houston rather than about the baseball. Game 3 got the night slot once the Yankees and Padres both swept, and the building filled.
Worth carrying into this round: a weekday afternoon playoff game in Atlanta is a soft ticket, and the resale floor moves with the slot. Checking TickPick on Wednesday evening, before the Game 3 start time was set, it listed from $39. Checking again at about 6:25 a.m. ET Thursday, with 8:15 posted, it listed from $51. Both of Atlanta’s Division Series dates are 6:00 p.m. starts, which is neither a 2 p.m. nor a true prime-time slot.
Where this sits in the bracket
The Wild Card round cut twelve clubs to eight. The White Sox swept the Astros in Houston, the Yankees swept the Red Sox, the Padres swept the Cubs, and Atlanta was the only series that needed a third game. Wednesday cut it to five, and Truist Park joined Daikin Park, Fenway Park and Wrigley Field on the done-for-the-year list, with Petco Park and Yankee Stadium following later the same night. Citizens Bank Park never got a game, because Atlanta held all three.
The World Series page runs the Game 1 host math for every surviving pairing, the who-hosts breakdown has the bracket city by city, and the October booking map covers the cancellation-cutoff trap round by round. For the two games in Los Angeles on October 3 and 4, the Dodger Stadium guide has the Union Station shuttle and the Echo Park play.
