Notre Dame plays Wisconsin at Lambeau Field on Sunday, September 6, 2026, 6:30 p.m. Central, 7:30 Eastern, NBC and Peacock. Monday is Labor Day. If you’re reading this now, the planning window has closed and the only useful question is what’s still buyable and what it costs.

Short version. Tickets exist, on resale, in the mid-$300s and climbing. Rooms inside Brown County are largely spoken for, and the survivors are priced accordingly. The Fox Cities and Milwaukee are the honest answers, and a $10 cash shuttle makes staying out there work better than most people expect.

The demand is easy to explain. This is a Shamrock Series game, the 13th, so Notre Dame is the designated home team taking a home date on the road, and the road leads to a building the program has never played in: the stadium named for Curly Lambeau, who played at Notre Dame in 1918 before founding the Packers. College football at Lambeau is close to a historical accident. Four games, ever, the last one a decade ago. This one was supposed to happen in 2020 and COVID took it. What’s actually left, and what it costs

Tickets. There was never a public on-sale. Notre Dame’s allotment moved through the school and sold out in May, and Wisconsin’s season-ticket-holder and donor request window ran May 26 through June 5. Everything now is secondary market. Yahoo’s ticket tracker put StubHub’s get-in at $346 on August 15, with lower-level seats from $384; other marketplaces were listing from $391 this week. On August 13 the floor was closer to $300. Nothing about an 81,441-seat sellout with two fanbases inside driving distance suggests that floor drops.

Rooms. The clearest read on this market isn’t a booking site, it’s the packagers. Event USA sells Lambeau weekends as ticket-plus-hotel bundles and posts its board publicly. Right now the Tundra Lodge, the Best Western and the Wingate are all marked sold out for this game. What’s left is the Quality Inn: three nights with a high end-zone ticket and breakfast, $999 per person at quad occupancy, $1,119 triple, $1,339 double, $2,099 if you’re going alone. Operators like that hold blocks a year ahead of the date. When three of four are gone nineteen days out, the unpackaged inventory sitting behind them is in worse shape, not better.

What you’re up against is a compression weekend run by people who have done it a hundred times. Revenue managers, the people who set hotel prices, closed out discount rates months ago, put two- and three-night minimum-stay rules on the weekend, and have been watching pickup pace climb since the kickoff time was announced in May. There is no late-breaking deal in a market this thin. There are cancellations, which is a different thing and worth checking for daily.

Parking. Official Lambeau lot passes for this game are trading on Ticketmaster and the resale sites. Vivid Seats had them from $183, averaging around $306, as of today. That is a real number to weigh against a $10 shuttle seat before you assume you need to drive in.

Where to stay now

The stadium district (Ashwaubenon and Titletown). Assume it’s gone. Lombardi Avenue, Oneida Street, Titletown: these sell out for ordinary Packers Sundays and this is not one. If something appears here it’s a cancellation, it will be expensive, and it will be taken within hours. Book it the moment you see it instead of opening a second tab to compare.

Downtown Green Bay. Your best remaining in-county shot, 4 miles from the stadium across the Fox River, with a bar and restaurant strip that will be full all weekend. It’s also on the Lamers shuttle routes, which removes the parking problem entirely. If anything opens up here, take it.

Appleton and the Fox Cities. This is where most people reading this will actually sleep, and there’s no shame in it. Appleton is about 30 minutes down I-41 with its own airport and downtown, Oshkosh another 20 beyond that and usually a notch cheaper. Both have coach-bus service to the game. For a group driving in anyway, the 30 minutes costs you nothing and the rate difference at this point is substantial.

Milwaukee. Nearly two hours south, which sounds like a lot until you compare a big-city hotel market against Green Bay on a compression night. For Notre Dame fans coming up from South Bend or Chicago, Milwaukee is on the route, and a Sunday night game with a Monday holiday makes stay-down, drive-up a genuine plan.

Rentals. Renting houses around Lambeau to visiting fans is a Green Bay institution, and Vrbo lists more than 400 properties near the stadium with Airbnb covering the same blocks. For four or more people this still beats two hotel rooms on price and beats every hotel on game-day logistics, because you’re walking. The tradeoff has changed shape, though. In June the warning was about strict cancellation terms; at nineteen days you’re not changing your mind anyway, so a firm cancellation policy costs you less than it did. Availability is the constraint now, not the fine print. Expect two-night minimums and cleaning fees, and expect the good ones to already be booked.

Getting there

The shuttle is the answer, and it’s confirmed. Lamers Express is running game-day service for this specific game. Ten dollars per person each way, cash only, every route dropping at The Bar on Holmgren Way, an easy walk from the gates. Departures run from Austin Straubel airport (3:45, 4:15, 4:45, 5:15 and 5:45 p.m.), downtown Green Bay, the east and west sides, De Pere and Denmark, roughly 3:00 to 5:40 p.m. depending on the stop. Coach buses come up from Appleton and Oshkosh, booked through TailGreeter rather than at the curb. Return service starts 45 minutes after the game ends. Their number is 920-496-3600.

Driving. Madison to Green Bay is 136 miles, about two and a half hours. Milwaukee is under two. South Bend is roughly 300 miles, call it five hours around Chicago and up I-43, which is exactly the drive Labor Day Monday exists for.

Flying. Austin Straubel (GRB) is 15 minutes from the stadium and small, so at this range you’re taking whatever’s left rather than shopping. Appleton (ATW) and Milwaukee (MKE) are the fallbacks, and Milwaukee usually has the fares and the seats.

Yard parking. Homeowners around the stadium sell spots on their lawns, cash at the curb, and they will absolutely be out there for this. Expect prices above a normal Packers Sunday. Free street parking exists within walking distance if you come early and read every sign, twice.

Rideshare. The official pickup corner for Lambeau is Mike McCarthy Way and Holmgren Way; exit through the gates on the east and south sides to reach it. The driver pool here is thin for a crowd this size and postgame surge is real. Agree on your exit plan before kickoff, because 81,000 people hitting Lombardi Avenue at 10 p.m. is not the moment to improvise.

The weekend around the game

Notre Dame has published the full Shamrock Series schedule, and a surprising amount of it is free. This is the argument for getting into the region Saturday rather than driving up Sunday afternoon.

Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4. “From the Gridiron to the Archives,” a Notre Dame exhibit at the Packers Hall of Fame, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Needs a Hall of Fame ticket and a game ticket.

Saturday, September 5. Shamrock Kickoff presented by Guinness takes over Titletown from 1 to 4 p.m., free, with a DJ, the cheer squad, yard games and a beer garden. The Notre Dame band and cheer concert plays the Titletown Grand Staircase at 4 p.m., free, 45 minutes. Two free academic talks run at Rockwood Terrace, robots and caregiving at 1 p.m. and sports biomechanics at 3. The Shamrock Social at Johnsonville Tailgate Village, 5 to 8 p.m., is ticketed and includes food and drink. A drummers circle closes Titletown out at 8. The service project at Paul’s Pantry is already at capacity with a waitlist.

Sunday, September 6. A pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Champion runs 8 to 11:30 a.m., free, but you need to register for the bus. Notre Dame family Mass is at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, noon to 1 p.m. Then the day is yours until 6:30.

Game day

A 6:30 kick means the whole day is runway, and the building opens earlier than you’d guess. Lambeau’s published policy opens the American Family Insurance gate on the east side six hours before an evening kickoff, which is 12:30 p.m., with the rest of the gates following at 4:30. The Packers Hall of Fame runs 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. on a typical gameday and the Atrium opens at 1:30 for ticketed guests. Those are Packers-game norms in a Packers-operated building, so treat them as the strong default and check what the team posts for this game that week.

Clear-bag rules apply at every gate, 12 x 6 x 12 or smaller plus one small clutch, with walk-through metal detectors. You keep your jacket, keys, wallet and watch on you, which speeds the line up more than people expect. Everyone else is also arriving early, so the line at 5:45 is not the line at 4:45.

Bring a layer. Normal early September in Green Bay is a high around 75 and an overnight low in the mid-50s, the game ends near 10 p.m., and Lambeau is an open bowl with nothing between you and the wind off the bay.

If you’re booking this week

Order of operations, in the order that actually works from here. Lock the ticket first, because the price is moving and everything else depends on it. Then book any room you can find in Green Bay or De Pere, refundable if the rate offers it and non-refundable if that’s the only option on the table, because at nineteen days a held room beats a flexible maybe. If Brown County comes up empty, go straight to Appleton without agonizing over it, and add the coach bus. Groups of four or more should price a rental house before any of that. Then set a reminder to re-check Green Bay availability every few days, because cancellations are the only new inventory this market will produce between now and kickoff.
