Everything else within a mile grades a point lower for more money. Most Pinstripe visitors skip the neighborhood and ride the 4 train down from Midtown East, about 25 minutes to the stadium's corner.

Upper Manhattan (the sleeper). Hotels around the Upper West Side and Harlem shorten the train ride to the Bronx considerably and skip the Midtown crush. Fewer options, shorter commute.
Near the stadium itself, supply is thin and always has been. Don’t force it; the trains solve this.
The subway answer is 161st Street–Yankee Stadium, served by the 4 at all times, the D most of the day, and the B on weekdays. From Midtown on the 4, it’s 15–18 minutes. On bowl Saturday, downtown-bound platforms after the game will be packed for 20 minutes and then fine — it clears fast, this is what the system does.
The commuter answer is Metro-North’s Yankees–E. 153rd Street station, Hudson Line, three blocks from the gates and about 15 minutes from Grand Central. If your crew is staying north of the city or driving down from New England, park at a Hudson Line station and ride in; it’s the only version of “driving to the Pinstripe Bowl” that works.
LaGuardia is the closest airport to the Bronx, but all three airports connect fine given you’re basing in the city anyway.
